About Dr. Canfield

Dr. Canfield received his Ph.D. in Microbiology/Immunology from Columbia University in 1990, and his M.D. from Columbia’s College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1992.

He trained in Internal Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital between 1992 and 1996, including a year as Chief Medical Resident.

Dr. Canfield trained in Allergy and Immunology and was admitted to the American Board of Allergy and Immunology in 2001. Since that time he has practiced clinical allergy and immunology and pursued an active career in basic and clinical research into the genetic and environmental origins of asthma.

He is a member of the New York Allergy Society and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
